Ribbed Safety Lock Washers (DIN 9250)

FULLERKREG Ribbed Safety Lock Washers (also known as Schnorr washers, conical spring lock washers, or toothed conical washers) conform to DIN 9250. The conical profile stores elastic energy under bolt load to maintain pre-load, while fine radial ribs on both bearing faces grip mating surfaces to prevent rotation and self-loosening - providing dual-action locking performance under vibration, thermal cycling, and dynamic loads.

About DIN 9250 Ribbed Safety Lock Washers

DIN 9250 specifies Schnorr-type ribbed safety lock washers in two series:

• Type S - Regular Duty: standard wall thickness and cone height, suitable for general industrial applications from M1.6
• Type VS - Heavy Duty: increased wall thickness and greater cone height, delivering higher spring force for heavy machinery and high-torque joints from M5

Both series feature fine radial ribs on both bearing faces. The dual-action locking principle combines conical spring pre-load retention with mechanical rib grip to prevent loosening under vibration, thermal cycling, and dynamic loads. Washers are reusable if undamaged and can be stacked to adjust spring force and deflection characteristics.

DIN 9250 is functionally cross-referenced with NFE 25-511 (French standard) and the Schnorr original specification.
