What Is A Wire Thread Insert?

Used to repair and increase internal threads, it can be screwed into the threaded hole to form a standard internal thread with high strength, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and good corrosion resistance, which can improve the performance of the screw hole and extend the service life of the product.

Who makes Insert Coil in china ?

For over a decade, the wire thread insert division of FULLERKREG has been dedicated to providing solutions for standard SR threaded inserts and self-locking threaded inserts.

Leveraging recognized expertise, FULLERKREG continuously develops and expands its product lines to meet market demands and ensure optimal solutions.

As a manufacturer, the company has introduced multiple advanced processing equipment, including Mingyang high-speed automatic lathes (2515/2520), Ningjiang servo-driven automatic sliding headstock lathes (CK117), and Tsugami CNC sliding headstock lathes (S205A). In addition, we are equipped with supporting facilities such as precision instrument lathes, automatic thread rolling machines, and automatic tapping machines, forming a comprehensive production capability. This setup has largely enabled automated production across all processes, ensuring high precision and stability while effectively meeting customers' demands for superior quality.

In terms of inspection, the company is fully equipped with devices including Taiwanese Yixin projectors, DUOMONE 2D measuring instruments, Reike optical full-inspection machines, Rockwell and Vickers hardness testers, as well as imported digital calipers and micrometers to guarantee machining accuracy.

With such robust production capabilities, strict inspection processes, and a professional design team, FULLERKREG can provide various threaded inserts along with standard, custom, simple, or complex mechanical fastening solutions.

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANTAGES OF THE WIRE:

RESISTANCE TO PREMATURE WEAR
FULLERKREG™ Wire Thread Inserts are usually made of stainless steel and have a higher mechanical strength than the material receiving the tapping and thus offer assemblies increased wear resistance.

HOMOGENEOUS LOAD DISTRIBUTION
Thanks to its elasticity, the FULLERKREG™ Wire Thread Insert corrects the imperfections of the screw and tapping. Thus, force distribution is spread out over the entire assembly.

SCREW PULL-OFF RESISTANCE
There are many advantages to using light alloys. On the other hand, they also have a weakness at the tapping. Using FULLERKREG™ stainless steel Wire Thread Inserts provides the assembly greater mechanical strength and thus better screw pull-off resistance.

RESISTANCE TO CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENTS
FULLERKREG™ Wire Thread Inserts protect against corrosion due to the nature of their alloy.

RESISTANCE TO THERMAL FACTORS
Maintaining the desired mechanical properties of the assembly at high temperatures is possible by using a FULLERKREG™ Wire Thread Insert made from specific alloys.

RESISTANCE TO LOOSENING
FULLERKREG™ free Wire Thread Inserts have a larger outside diameter than the tapping diameter. The fact that it is placed against the walls of the tapping ensures strong adhesion and removal only with a specific tool.

ANTI-LOOSENING
In order to prevent screw loosening caused by dynamic stresses, vibrations, and/or thermal loads, the FULLERKREG™ SR AF (screwlock) Wire Thread Insert provides two functions in one: elimination of the effects of unscrewing and tapping reinforcement.

DESIGN
FULLERKREG™ Wire Thread Inserts maintain the assembly’s desired mechanical strength while using light alloys and/or reducing the thickness of the receiving part.

Threaded lengths are defined to make the screw the weakest element of
the assembly. These values are indications and ensure total safety in use.
These lengths, as defined, can sometimes be reduced after confirmation through testing.
Intermediate lengths are available upon request.
For assemblies subjected to temperatures, the change in the receiving material's strength must be taken into account.

Wire thread inserts are inserted into threaded holes in low-strength engineering materials such as aluminum, magnesium alloy, cast iron, fiberglass, and plastic to form standard internal threads. These inserts offer high connection strength, resistance to shock, vibration, and wear. They also disperse stress and protect the underlying threads, significantly extending the life of the substrate. Furthermore, wire thread inserts can be used to repair loose or misaligned threads on the original substrate without causing the entire substrate to be scrapped. These inserts are also easy to repair, quick, and economical.

Thread inserts are categorized by thread specification into metric (coarse and fine), unified coarse (UNC), and unified fine (UNF) thread inserts. British Standard (coarse BSW and fine BSF) thread inserts and pipe thread (G) thread inserts are also available. FULLERKREG's wire thread inserts are divided into free-running and screw-lock types based on their structure. Screw-lock inserts utilize one or more polygonal coils in the center of the insert to clamp the installed bolt, preventing it from loosening. This eliminates the need for additional anti-loosening washers, reducing costs and simplifying assembly.

The left image shows a screw-lock insert with plastic deformation in the center thread.

The length of the threaded sleeve is usually selected according to the multiple of the nominal diameter d of the bolt to be installed in it. Each type of threaded sleeve has a length of 1d, 1.5d, 2d, 2.5d, and 3d. For example, an M6 threaded sleeve with a length of 1.5d will form an M6 internal threaded hole with a length of 9mm after installation.

FULLERKREG can provide the following products:

metric thread inserts and special taps/installer wrenches (full range of specifications in stock); British and American thread inserts and related tool taps; American fine-pitch wire thread inserts and tools; set and bagged thread inserts; metric bulk wire thread inserts and tap installation and removal tools.
