Product Overview
The FULLERKREG Hollow Wall Anchor — Standard Point Zinc is a self-contained, self-threading fastening solution engineered for reliable load-bearing in hollow substrates including gypsum wallboard (drywall), plaster-on-lath, and hollow-core masonry. Manufactured from Carbon Steel Q195 to Grade 4.8 mechanical property requirements and finished with a zinc electroplate coating, these anchors deliver consistent performance for interior installation applications.
The standard sharp point allows the anchor to be driven directly into drywall without pre-drilling. The coarse outer thread provides aggressive purchase in the gypsum core. As the machine screw is tightened, the anchor body expands behind the wall panel, distributing the clamping load across a broad bearing area and preventing pull-through. Each anchor ships with a matched zinc-plated machine screw — no additional hardware required.
FULLERKREG anchors are manufactured to consistent dimensional tolerances and are available in a full range of sizes to suit residential, commercial, and light industrial installation requirements. Bulk packaging and custom labeling are available for wholesale and OEM customers.
Key Features & Benefits
-
No Pre-Drilling Required (Drywall): Standard sharp point penetrates gypsum board directly — saves time and eliminates the need for a separate drill bit.
-
Self-Expanding Sleeve: As the included machine screw is driven, the anchor sleeve expands and locks firmly against the back face of the wallboard, creating a secure mechanical interlock.
-
Carbon Steel Q195 / Grade 4.8: Consistent tensile and yield strength across the full production run; suitable for static and light dynamic loads.
-
Zinc Electroplated Finish: Provides corrosion protection for interior applications; bright, clean appearance compatible with painted or finished wall surfaces.
-
Wide Substrate Compatibility: Engineered for gypsum drywall (9.5 mm / 12.5 mm / 15.9 mm), plaster-on-lath, and hollow concrete block.
-
Includes Matched Machine Screw: Each anchor ships with a zinc-plated machine screw — no additional hardware required.
-
Full Size Range: Available in multiple diameter and length combinations to match fixture weight and wall thickness requirements.
-
Bulk & Wholesale Ready: Available in box, bag, and bulk-bin packaging; custom branding and private-label options available for distributors.

* Standard point anchors are self-drilling into gypsum board. For plaster or hollow masonry substrates, a pilot hole matching the anchor body diameter is recommended.
Load Capacity Reference Data
The following values are reference load capacities based on testing in standard 12.5 mm (½″) gypsum wallboard. Actual performance depends on substrate condition, installation quality, and load direction. Apply a minimum safety factor of 4:1 for static loads and 6:1 for dynamic or vibration loads. Do not use for overhead (ceiling) applications without engineering review.

Installation Instructions
01
Mark Location
Mark the desired anchor position. Verify no studs, pipes, or electrical cables are present using a stud finder.
02
Drive Anchor
Place the anchor tip against the marked point. Tap or drive the anchor through the drywall face until the flange sits flush with the wall surface.
03
Insert Screw
Insert the included machine screw through the fixture (if applicable) and into the anchor body. Begin threading by hand to ensure alignment.
04
Tighten Screw
Using a screwdriver, tighten the machine screw. The anchor sleeve expands and collapses against the back face of the wallboard, locking the anchor in place.
05
Verify Seating
Confirm the anchor flange is flush and the anchor does not rotate. Apply a gentle pull-test before hanging the fixture.
06
Mount Fixture
Attach the fixture using the machine screw. Do not overtighten — stop when the fixture is snug against the wall surface.
Tools Required
- Hammer (for initial seating)
- Flat-head or Phillips screwdriver (matching drive type)
- Stud finder (recommended)
- Pencil for marking
- Drill with matching bit (for plaster or masonry substrates only)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to drill a hole before installing this anchor? For standard gypsum drywall (9.5–15.9 mm), no pre-drilling is required — the standard sharp point penetrates the board directly. For plaster or hollow masonry substrates, a pilot hole matching the anchor body diameter is recommended.
Q: What is the maximum load I can hang from one anchor?Working load capacity depends on anchor size and substrate. Apply a 4:1 safety factor to the ultimate load values in the table above. For example, an M6 × 50 anchor in 12.5 mm drywall has an indicative working tension load of approximately 275 N (~28 kgf). Always verify with a pull-test before loading.
Q: Can these anchors be used in ceilings?Overhead (ceiling) applications require additional engineering review due to the risk of progressive failure under sustained load. FULLERKREG recommends consulting a structural engineer for any ceiling-mounted application.
Q: Are the anchors reusable? The machine screw can be removed and reinserted. However, once the anchor sleeve has expanded, the anchor body itself cannot be removed without damaging the wall. A new anchor must be used if the fixture is relocated.
Q: What is the difference between Grade 4.8 and higher grades?Grade 4.8 specifies a minimum tensile strength of 400 MPa and yield strength of 320 MPa — appropriate for the load ranges typical of hollow wall anchor applications. Higher grades are used for structural bolted connections and are not required for this anchor type.
Q: Are custom sizes or packaging available?Yes. FULLERKREG offers custom anchor lengths, diameter combinations, and bulk packaging configurations for wholesale and OEM customers. Contact our sales team with your specifications.
Q: What corrosion resistance does the zinc plating provide? The zinc electroplate (5–8 µm) provides corrosion protection suitable for interior dry environments (ISO 9223 Category C1–C2). These anchors are not recommended for exterior, high-humidity, or marine environments without additional protective coating.
