FULLERKREG Maxi-Loc Pocket Hole Screws
FULLERKREG Maxi-Loc Pocket Hole Screws are purpose-built for pocket-hole joinery, engineered with a wide, low-profile washer head that seats flush and strong in the bottom of a pocket hole. The large bearing surface spreads clamping force evenly across the joint, resists wood splitting, and gives you the strongest possible pocket-hole connection for cabinets, furniture, face frames, drawers, and shop projects. Every screw is case-hardened for strength and self-tapping for fast, pilot-hole-free driving.
Head Style: Maxi-Loc
The Maxi-Loc head is a large, flat-bottomed washer head designed specifically for pocket-hole joinery. Its oversized bearing surface seats firmly against the bottom of the pocket hole, maximizing contact area and holding power. This head style is recommended for the majority of pocket-hole applications, from face-frame cabinets to furniture assembly, and is available in both fine and coarse thread to match softwoods and hardwoods.
| Feature |
Benefit |
| Square-drive recess |
Prevents bit cam-out and slipping while driving |
| Flat-bottom washer head |
Seats firmly and evenly in the pocket hole |
| Smooth shank (upper section) |
Draws the joint tightly together as the screw is driven |
| Case-hardened steel |
Resists bending, snapping, and shearing under load |
| Self-tapping tip |
Drills its own starter hole in the workpiece without splitting it |
Thread Style: Fine vs. Coarse
FULLERKREG Maxi-Loc screws are offered in two thread styles, each matched to specific wood densities. Both feature a self-tapping tip that eliminates the need for a pilot hole in the mating workpiece.
Fine Thread
Recommended for hardwoods, including ash, maple, hickory, mahogany, oak, walnut, cherry, and birch.
Coarse Thread
Recommended for softwoods and sheet goods, including plywood, particle board, MDF, melamine, pine, cedar, fir, spruce, basswood, butternut, and aspen.
Finish & Composition
Every FULLERKREG Maxi-Loc screw starts with case-hardened steel for maximum joint strength and shear resistance. Choose the finish that matches your project environment:
Zinc
Zinc-plated finish recommended for a wide variety of indoor projects where moisture exposure is not a significant concern.
Weather-Resistant Coated
A multi-layer anti-corrosion coating rated for both indoor and outdoor use, offering substantially greater rust resistance than standard zinc plating and compatible with pressure-treated lumber.
Stainless Steel
Recommended for high-moisture, high-corrosion applications such as outdoor furniture, marine projects, and ACQ-treated lumber.
Selecting the Correct Screw Length
Length is the most important factor in choosing the right pocket-hole screw. As a general rule, use the length shown below for joining like material thicknesses.

Part numbering key: SML = Maxi-Loc head style – C/F = Coarse/Fine thread – Length code in quarters/hundredths of an inch (e.g. 125 = 1-1/4") – S5 = Stainless Steel – B = Weather-Resistant Coated – X = Heavy Duty diameter upgrade.
Standards & Quality
Every FULLERKREG Maxi-Loc screw is manufactured from case-hardened carbon steel to a tight dimensional tolerance for consistent head seating, drive-recess fit, and thread engagement across every batch. Zinc and stainless finishes are salt-spray tested for corrosion resistance, and the self-tapping tip geometry is validated for clean starts in both hardwood and softwood without splitting.
