At FULLERKREG, every fastener that leaves our facility begins its journey long before it reaches our production floor. Behind each finished bolt, nut, or washer is a carefully managed supply chain — from the moment a customer places an order to the final delivery of precision-machined components. This article walks you through that process, using a real production task order issued to our raw material supplier as a reference point.
Step 1: Customer Order Received
The process begins when a customer submits a purchase order to FULLERKREG — specifying product type, dimensions, material grade, surface treatment, quantity, and delivery requirements. Our engineering and sales team reviews the order against the customer's technical drawings and quality standards before confirming acceptance.
Once confirmed, our procurement team immediately initiates the raw material sourcing process to ensure lead times are met without compromise on quality.
Step 2: Raw Material Order Placed with Mill
For this particular order, FULLERKREG issued a Production Task Notification (生产任务通知单) to TISCO (太钢 — Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group), one of China's leading specialty steel producers, for the supply of cold-rolled steel coil.
Key specifications from the task order include:
- Material specification: 1.5 × 1250 × 1267 mm cold-rolled steel coil
- Weight: 1,540 kg
- Standard reference: JIS G4305:2021 2B (Japanese Industrial Standard for cold-rolled stainless steel plate/sheet/strip)
- Surface finish: 2B (standard cold-rolled, heat-treated, pickled, and skin-passed — smooth, moderately reflective)
- Density tolerance: 0.970–0.995
- Thickness tolerance: Meets precision tolerance per standard
- Delivery destination: Shanghai
Step 3: Raw Material Processing at the Mill
Upon receiving the production task order, TISCO's production department executes the following manufacturing process sequence for the steel coil:
- Pickling (酸洗) — Removes surface oxides and scale from the hot-rolled base material using acid bath treatment, preparing the surface for cold rolling.
- Cold Rolling (冷轧) — The pickled strip is passed through precision rolling mills to achieve the target thickness (1.5 mm) with tight dimensional tolerances.
- Annealing (退火) — The cold-rolled coil is heat-treated in a controlled atmosphere furnace to relieve internal stress, restore ductility, and achieve the required mechanical properties.
- Skin Pass / Temper Rolling (平整) — A light final rolling pass to improve surface flatness, eliminate yield point elongation, and achieve the 2B surface finish.
- Slitting & Cutting (剪切、切边) — The coil is trimmed to the specified width (1,250 mm) and cut to length (1,267 mm) with edge quality control.
- Surface Inspection & Quality Check (表面质量合格出库) — Final visual and dimensional inspection is performed. The coil must pass surface quality standards before release from the mill warehouse.
- Packaging & Dispatch (包装运输) — The finished coil is packaged (bulk coil wrapping) and dispatched to Shanghai for delivery to FULLERKREG.
The mill's internal schedule targets completion by July 17–18, 2025, with final handover and logistics coordination confirmed by the production manager and quality department.
Step 4: Raw Material Received at FULLERKREG
Upon arrival at our facility, the incoming steel coil undergoes incoming quality inspection (IQC), including:
- Dimensional verification (thickness, width, length)
- Surface condition check (2B finish, no scratches, pits, or inclusions)
- Material certification review (mill test report cross-checked against JIS G4305:2021)
- Hardness and mechanical property spot-check if required
Only materials that pass IQC are released to the production floor.
Step 5: Washer Stamping & Production per Customer Drawing
With qualified raw material in hand, FULLERKREG's production team proceeds strictly according to the customer-approved engineering drawings. Washers are produced through a precision stamping (punching) process — the industry-standard method for high-volume, tight-tolerance flat washer manufacturing. Our process includes:
- Coil Feeding & Leveling — The steel coil is fed through an automatic leveling machine to eliminate coil set and ensure flatness before stamping, critical for dimensional consistency across high-volume runs.
- Blanking / Punching (冲底孔) — The inner hole (ID) and outer diameter (OD) are simultaneously punched using a compound die on a high-speed stamping press. Die clearance is precisely controlled to achieve clean shear edges and minimize burr height.
- Deburring & Edge Finishing (去毛刺) — Stamped washers are tumbled or vibratory-finished to remove any residual burrs and sharp edges, ensuring safe handling and proper seating in assembly.
- Flatness & Thickness Inspection — Samples are checked against drawing tolerances for thickness, inner diameter, outer diameter, and flatness using calibrated gauges and CMM where required.
- Surface Treatment — Depending on the customer specification: passivation (for stainless steel 2B material), zinc plating, Dacromet, black oxide, or as-stamped. Surface treatment is applied after dimensional inspection.
- Final Sorting & Visual Inspection — 100% visual check for surface defects (scratches, pits, inclusions, deformation). Automatic sorting machines are used for high-volume orders to ensure zero-defect outgoing quality.
All production parameters — die specifications, press tonnage, feed pitch, and inspection criteria — are set strictly per the customer's engineering drawing and our internal process control plan.
Step 6: Finished Product Delivered to Customer
Finished washers are packaged per the customer's requirements — bulk carton, small box inner packing, or custom labeling — and shipped with full documentation including:
- Inspection report (dimensional + hardness)
- Material test report (MTR)
- Packing list and certificate of conformance
This end-to-end traceability — from mill heat number to finished part — is a core part of FULLERKREG's quality commitment.
Why This Matters to Our Customers
Understanding the supply chain behind your washers is not just transparency — it is a quality assurance statement. When you order from FULLERKREG, you are not buying off-the-shelf commodity parts. You are receiving washers that are:
- ✅ Sourced from certified, traceable mills (TISCO, Baosteel, and equivalent)
- ✅ Stamped to your exact drawing specifications with controlled tooling
- ✅ Inspected at every stage from raw material to finished goods
- ✅ Delivered with full documentation for your incoming QC
Whether you need standard DIN/ISO washers or fully custom-stamped components, FULLERKREG manages the entire supply chain so you don't have to.
